According to research conducted by Bounce, the most popular destination among tourists is the Maldives.
The research, based on elements such as Google searches for flights, hotels, and vacations in the last 12 months revealed the data according to the agency.
Maldives topped the list with a total of 2,457,000 searches while India followed behind on the second spot with 1,478,300 searches. Other countries in the list include;
- Singapore (1,224,500 searches)
- Costa Rica (1,067,300 searches)
- Mexico (1,059,000 searches)
- Japan (1,051,200 searches)
- Jamaica (1,021,900 searches)
- Greece (998,100 searches)
- Bahamas (957,000 searches)
- Australia (867,000 searches)
The island nation remains among one of the most popular holiday destinations on the planet, while the total tourist arrivals for 2021 (in annual terms) reached over 1.3 million according to statistics from Ministry of Tourism.
Despite Covid-19 challenges being prevalent, the Maldives tourism continued to show strong signs of improvement during the previous year.
