The goalkeeper coach for both the national Women's team and T.C Sports Club, Ahmed Ahsan, on June 4, participated in the National Goalkeeper Conference held in Reading, United Kingdom.

Ahsan received the opportunity to take part in the conference through an instructor at the Asian Football Federation (AFC)'s Level 2 Goalkeeping Coaching Certificate Course, which he was a participant of.

Organized by Evolution Goalkeeper Coaching, various sessions were conducted by world-class coaches and trainers such as Eric Steele, Tony Parks, Andy Quy, Anthony White, Marcos Abad and Paul Clements.

The event aims to bridge the gap for professional development within the role of a goalkeeper.

In an interview with local media Mihaaru, Ahsan stated that he gained a lot of valuable knowledge from the seasoned trainers, especially about preparing goalkeepers for their matches.

Moreover, Ahsan learned of the training regiments used by Edvin van der Sar and Brad Friedel, nearing the end of their careers.

Previously, Ahsan was the goalkeeper coach for Victory Sports Club.

During his time in T.C, he trained Nepalese goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong. In 2018, Kiran was awarded the title of best goalkeeper of Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League 2018.

Additionally, Ahsan coaches the national U-19 team goalkeepers.

In 2019, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) conducted goalkeeper training courses after a 13-year hiatus.

FAM stated that more goalkeeper oriented trainings will be hosted in the future. FAM has also established an academy for goalkeepers.
