"Wheel the World", the online travel booking platform that allows persons with disabilities and elderly to travel the world, has introduced a new affiliate program for the travel industry. Travel agents may now partner up with Wheel the World to make travel more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

The affiliate program allows travel agents to offer Wheel the World's certified accessible travel experiences, including accommodation, transportation, and activities, to better serve travelers with disabilities, seniors, and their accompanying friends and family through a variety of partnership models. After more than 50 travel agencies contacted Wheel the World on behalf of their own clients seeking partnership and information on accessible travel, the company formalized its affiliate program.

“Our hope for the new affiliate program is to encourage travel agents to consider the full experience from start to finish for travelers with disabilities,” says Alvaro Silberstein, Wheel the World's co-founder and CEO. “For example, tour operators may think a ramp to access an attraction is enough for a travelling wheelchair user, but what if the bathroom at the same attraction is not accessible? How could a visual experience be communicated and enjoyed by a blind person? We pose these questions to carefully design travel experiences that are fully accessible and impactful to our affiliate partners’ customers.”

Travel agents will get unique access to around 800 up-to-date accessible travel listings in 117 destinations across 27 countries through Wheel the World's affiliate network. Participants will be able to earn commission for every Wheel the World service that their clients book. Travel agents will additionally get access to Wheel the World Academy, a free curriculum with professional tips on accessible travel and how to effectively promote to and assist disabled tourists, after a quick registration process.

Wheel the World will also provide virtual information about how to better accommodate disabled passengers to U.S. travel agencies, hoteliers, tour operators, and other hospitality groups on April 12, 2022. The webinar, which will be presented by Juan Pinto, Wheel the World's head of accessibility, will go through the history and importance of accessible travel, as well as how to make products and services more accessible, and data-driven solutions to solve inaccessibility in the sector. With a vision to link more than one billion people with disabilities to amazing travel experiences, the inclusive firm continues to expand its offers to customers and travel agencies.
