Japanese Ambassador to Maldives Keiko Yanai, on Tuesday, handed over medical equipment worth approximately USD 2.8 million to Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen.
During the ceremony held at State Electric Company (STELCO), Ambassador Yanai granted four diagnostic ultrasound systems, a mobile digital x-ray system, a ventilator, a transportable incubator, five defibrillators, five dental units, five dental autoclaves, and five dental x-ray film developers.

The equipment donated is part of Japan's grant aid committed to enhancing Maldives' health sector, in accordance with the Exchange of Notes signed by the two governments in June 2018, under 'The Economic and Social Development Programme'.
Embassy of Japan in Maldives expressed their best wishes stating that "the government and people of Japan hope that this grant will contribute to the development of the health sector".
