MDP who has not fielded any members in pursuit of the Felidhoo seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections has expressed their support for the independent candidate and former President's Office Chief of Staff Ali Zahir for the seat.
Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) has determined to endorse the former Vice President of Adhaalath Party, Ali Zahir who is contending as an independent candidate for the Felidhoo Constituency of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
MDP has not deployed one of their own candidates in pursuit of the Felidhoo seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections slated for the 17th of next month as determined by the Election's Commission (EC).
However, MDP stated today that they have decided to endorse Ali Zahir, who had served as Chief of Staff at the time of MDP's recent administration, for the Felidhoo Constituency seat in the upcoming elections.
Subsequently, MDP has implored the supporters and members of their party to cast their ballot for Ali Zahir.
While a coalition partnership was formed between MDP and Adhaalath Party during MDP's former tenure, Ali Zahir was one of the biggest advocators of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Ali Zahir, native to Fuvahmulah City, has completed higher education in the legal field both in and outside the country. He has expressed appreciation for the support endorsed by MDP while having previously assured their advocacy in favor of himself.
