Three arrested for kidnapping in Male'

Police have arrested three individuals for kidnapping and holding a person in a house in Male'.

Police said today that they had received reports yesterday of a Maldivian male being kidnapped.

In relation to the case, Police have arrested three men of 22 years, 27 years and 30 years.

When taken for their remand hearing, Criminal Court placed them in remand in custody for a period of ten days.

Police have not revealed further details regarding this case so far.

However, the Criminal Court order reveals that the three were arrested for entering the guesthouse where the victim was staying, damaging property, and kidnapping him.

It further states that there is video footage showing them taking the victim on a motorcycle, although the accused deny the charges.
