The nomination of a member for the commission was determined with the resignation of former commission member Ahmed Gais on January 8th last year. Candidates approved by the Committee

2. Hussain Amr, V. Roashan

3. Mariyam Nariman Shareef, Gaaf Dhaalu Thinadhoo, Mushthareege

Nuzuha’s appointment was passed with 34 votes of the parliamentarians.

These votes were cast solely by opposing party Maldives Democrats Party (MDP) and The Democrats members. Parliamentarians of the ruling party coalition, People’s National Congress (PNC) and Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) did not participate in this vote.
