In a post on social media, Police cited the MET Office as saying there may be swell waves from Kaafu Atoll to Addu Atoll. Hence, they advised caution when travelling on the bridge and highway.
They further advised persons living near the beach in islands to take precautionary measures to protect their goods and residences.
The White Alert issued by the MET Office predicts swell waves in islands from Kaafu Atoll to Addu between 13:15 hrs today till 17:15 hrs at high tide.
As per the MET Office, waves may reach 2.8 feet at high tide in Central Maldives, with it reaching 3.2 feet in Southern Atolls.
