Ruling People's National Congress (PNC) MP for Hulhudhoo constituency Mohamed Shahid submitted a motion to dismiss the PG, based on which the committee decided to grant Shameem a period of five days to be answerable to the allegations.
Committee Chair Manadhoo MP Husnee Mubarak stated that this period would conclude on Wednesday, and that summoning Shameem would hence be placed on agenda for the following day's committee meeting.
In today's meeting, MPs requested for summary statements of some of the allegations against Shameem, and documentation regarding foreign trips granted in the case of discrimination against employees.t
Central Fuvahmulah MP Ali Fazad submitted the request for these documents. This proposal was passed by the committee, who dec the ided to request the PG Office to submit these documents ahead of the PG being summoned.

Shameem was appointed as PG in December, 2019, with his term set to conclude this coming December.
