Three individuals who attempted to enter the Maldives on fake passports have been intercepted at Velana International Airport.
Maldives Immigration said that a 25 year old man had been caught as he attempted to enter the Maldives under a false identity with a fake passport on July 31.
The other two individuals were intercepted in August.
One of these was a 23 year old man, who was found out on August 16. The other is a 21 year old man who was held on August 18, Immigration said.
It is so far unclear which country the three persons come from, although Immigration published photos of the individuals today.
The actions that will be or have been taken against these three persons have also not been announced.
Even earlier, Immigration has caught persons attempting to enter Maldives on passports that either do not belong to them, or have been forged.
