Maldives Police Service, on Monday, revealed that sums of MVR 95,000 and USD 1,000 were stolen from the residence of an elderly couple in Gahdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
At approximately 05:30 hrs, the unknown burglar broke down the door of the house to steal the money. The total amount stolen amounts to MVR 110,460.
No arrests have been made in relation to the case as of yet.
The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
