A 32-year-old fisherman, Ibrahim Saeed, was found dead in the lagoon of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll's Fiyori Island on Sunday.
According to Fiyori Island Council, the boat he was working on was docked due to bad weather conditions after weighing the fish in the island.
The island council also revealed that, according to his family, Saeed had a history of seizures.
However, the cause of the death has not been determined yet.
The body of Saeed, born to Seenu Atoll's Feydhoo, was found by crew members of his boat.
The deceased’s body is to be transferred to his hometown.
