Under the agreement, a 100 room hotel will be developed on the vacant land adjacent to the airport which is expected to create job opportunities for 200 people living in the area.
Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has awarded a contract to develop a city hotel in the tourism zone located in the Fares-Maathodaa Airport area in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll.
The project was awarded to Silver Land Hotels. The agreement was signed by RACL Managing Director Ahmed Mubeen on behalf of the company, and Project Management Head Ibrahim Mohamed signed on behalf of Silver Land Hotels.
Under the agreement, a 100 room hotel will be developed on the vacant land adjacent to the airport, the company said. The city hotel is expected to create job opportunities for 200 people living in the area.
Mubeen stated that the project will start in the next three months. The hotel is estimated to be valued at MVR 20 million (USD 1.2 million).
Mubeen mentioned that the company already operates seven airports and plans to develop city hotels on vacant land at these airports to provide additional economic opportunities for the local population.
