President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sought investments from Chinese companies for 11 projects at the Maldives Investment Forum during his state visit to China.
Speaking at the inauguration of the forum, President Muizzu opened the opportunity for projects including the relocation of the Malé Commercial Port to Thilafushi, RasMalé Development, Ihavandhippolhu Integrated Project, Gaafu Dhaal atoll Thinadhoo-Kaadedhdhoo Link project, Addu Hithadhoo-Hulhumeedhoo Link Road Project, Renewable Energy, and Waste Management Project.
Other projects include the Velana International Airport development project, construction of 15 more airports, and expansion of SEZ.
The participants of the forum were given a presentation on each of the projects, and the relevant ministers also provided further details.
Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Abdulla Muththalib said that, in addition to these main projects, proposals for projects such as road construction will also be presented.
He added that the government would welcome various business models proposed to carry out these projects.
