Maldives Police Service has confiscated over MVR200,000 in cash along with alcoholic beverages through a raid conducted on three Male' City residences and a vehicle search.
Law enforcement authority on Tuesday said that at least three individuals suspected of direct involvement in the case were apprehended during an operation led by the Drug Enforcement Department (DED) of Police Service on Saturday, 30th April.
Moreover, police claims that they apprehended two Sri Lankans aged 27 and 31 and a Bangladeshi aged 29 years.
The Counter Narcotics Intelligence Department and DED worked in collaboration following intel reports of drug peddling activities were vetted by the intelligence unit.
Authorities confiscated a total of 79 bottles containing alcoholic beverages, over MVR245,000 in cash, over USD14,500 in cash along with a EUR50 note.
Meanwhile, Maldives Criminal Court has ordered 15 days of remand on all three.
