The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Thursday decided to investigate disciplinary issues lodged against a judge and magistrate.
According to the judicial watchdog, Judge Ali Abdulla of the Civil Court stands accused of overly delaying a decision regarding a request for a temporary order.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Ihsaan, who is charged with overseeing the Gaafu Alif judicial constituency, acted unlawfully with regards to a case undertaken by the Villingili Magistrate Court.
JSC stated that an investigative committee has been formed to conduct the probes.
The commission is currently investigating disciplinary issues lodged against several other judges as well. The commission had in the past terminated some justices over disciplinary violations.
