Ooredoo Maldives on Friday hosted a women-only round for female participants of Ooredoo Masrace, the annual fishing tournament hosted during the month of Ramadan.
The competing teams were from Bank of Maldives (BML), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).
Stelco Women secured a place in the finals after competing against United BML Ladies, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) Women and MTCC Kambalun.
Mayor of Malé City Shifa Mohamed attended the festivities as chief guest. Ooredoo's brand ambassadors, Ahmed Athif and Habeys Boduberu Group as well as the management team and other participants were also present.
Ooredoo hosted the women-only round in order to mark the tenth year of the Ooredoo Masrace as well as to encourage greater female participation in the fisheries industry.
Rounds of Ooredoo Masrace are typically held every Saturday throughout Ramadan, excluding the last ten days, with the grand finale scheduled right after Eid al-Fitr.
