Only few shelters remain open in Afghanistan where women who had been victims of domestic abuse and violence can seek refuge. They fear the Taliban takeover may lead to these shelters to close, as they believe the woman's place is with their family. Some NGO's have stepped up their work, but they fear they may have to start from scratch.
