A team of four tenacious ocean advocates - veterinary surgeons Dr Claire Petros and Dr Cal Major of the UK, and surfer Dhafeena Hassan Ibrahim and diver Shaziya Saeed of the Maldives - kick off 'Stand Up For Our Seas' on February 21, 2019. Powered by Coco Collections and the Olive Ridley Project, Stand Up for Our Seas entails an unprecedented expedition of 100 km around Baa Atoll on stand up paddleboards, as they explore the threats faced by turtles and other sea life, with a focus on plastic pollution, ghost fishing gear and climate change, and raise awareness in local islands and resorts.
