Criminal Court on Sunday remanded six individuals arrested over the death of a 24-year-old man in Gaafu Alif Atoll.
According to Maldives Police Service, the court remanded two 24-year-olds and a 20-year-old for 12 days, a 21-year-old for 10 days, and an 18-year-old for five days.
The 23-year-old suspect is to be remanded until the end of trial.
The victim in question was pronounced dead at approximately 0500 hrs at Gaafu Alif Atoll Hospital last Friday. According to local media, the man reportedly died of a drug overdose.
Police stated that they are investigating the case further.
