Four people had been injured in the incident and taken to Fuvahmulah Hospital yesterday morning. These include two Maldivians and two foreigners.
An official from the hospital said that the most severely injured is a foreigner, who has now been transferred to capital Male' city for further treatment. The man has broken bones in two places in his leg, and cuts across the body, the official said. The remaining three also sustained injuries of various severity.
Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital confirmed that they are now treating this individual. They said that he is currently admitted in the hospital's general ward.
Photos circulating on social media showed that the glass sheets had been completely shattered into pieces. A pallet believed to have held the glass sheets, and the broken pieces of glass were on the boat.
