The man, identified as Nadheesh Perera, was earlier married to a Maldivian.
According to his lawyer, he was handcuffed and escorted by Police this afternoon, and made to leave the country.
The lawyer said that Perera alleges that police were violent towards him, and claims that no court order or deportation papers were presented.
However, Maldives Immigration stated last night that Perera had been denied entry due to him having been previously deported from the country.
