Fuel Supplies Maldives’ (FMS) fuel barge that ran aground in a reef in Kaafu Atoll was refloated on Friday.
MNDF said that the barge named "Mekunu" ran aground into a reef near Rannalhi Resort in Kaafu Atoll on Wednesday evening. The barge was refloated on Friday evening.
It is unclear why the 24 meter long fuel barge ran aground.
Refloating the vessel was carried out by the Coast Guard Second Squadron of MNDF. MNDF said that there was no oil leakage in this incident.
