Home Minister Abdullah Azleen Tuesday said that the Maldivian citizens should be grateful that the nation has been blessed with a leader of President Abdulla Yameen’s caliber.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the National Patriotism Day on March 6, Minister Azleen said that the country has never seen a more productive president in its history that has been diligently working towards the development of the nation.
Minister Azleen also praised the President for his efforts on protecting the nation’s independence and sovereignty while keeping a constant watchful eye on the nations esteem and decorum.
“The reason why the citizens of this nations should accept, and be grateful for [the President's] contributions to the nation is plentiful. Be thankful to Almighty Allah for blessing the country with such a capable leader at this precarious moment in time,” Azleen had said.
Minister Azleen also thanked President Yameen on behalf of Maldivian citizens and remarked that President Yameen held a place of high prestige in the public's eye.
Referring to the political hardships faced by the ruling government, Azleen alleged that attacks on the nations independence are being made by "forces from within the nation".
He also urged to go forward with the nation's progress while keeping in mind the valuable lessons learned from the history of the country.
