President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, officially met the Foreign Secretary, Ahmed Sareer.
While neither the President's Office nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to issue any official statements regarding the meeting, Sareer posted his congratulations to the president-elect on Twitter and wished him a successful term in office.
Since his electoral victory on September 23, Solih has held meetings with several top government officials including the then Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaf, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, and Maldives Monetary Authority's Governor Ahmed Naseer.
Transitional efforts of the new administration are being led by the Director General of Transition (DGT), Ahmed Latheef.
Mariya Ahmed, the spokesperson for the president-elect, has stated that the transition team is receiving the full cooperation of all ministries and institutions.
