Saudi Arabia's Deputy Ambassador for Maldives Matrek Abdulla M. Aldosari expressed hopes that Maldives will gain further development from the close relationship with Saudi, at a special ceremony on Wednesday.
Speaking at the ceremony held at Kurumba Maldives to mark Saudi Arabia's 88th National Day, the ambassador said that Maldives and Saudi share a very strong relationship, describing the two countries as 'brothers'.
He expressed hopes that both countries will develop and gain national harmony from their relationship.
The Foreign Secretary of Maldives Ahmed Sareer noted the close connection with Saudi Arabia and stated that the country plays a vital role in the development of Maldives.
Sareer also expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for their provision of aid to Maldives.
Islamic University's Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Ali Saeed, various leading members of independent institutions, and members of the Saudi Arabian embassy took part in this ceremony.
