This year's visit Maldives Pro kicks off in Male' City

The Visit Maldives Pro, a part of the bodyboarding IBC World Tour, began yesterday at The Varunula Raalhugandu in Male' City. This marks the third consecutive year the tournament is included in the IBC World Tour.

The Visit Maldives Pro, a part of the bodyboarding IBC World Tour, began yesterday at The Varunula Raalhugandu in Male' City. This marks the third consecutive year the tournament is included in the IBC World Tour.

A total of 86 bodyboarders from 14 countries are participating in the event, which continues until Friday and includes the men's open, women's open, and junior categories.

Among the competitors, 15 male bodyboarders from the Maldives will participate, with five of them also competing in the junior category.

In the Men's Open heats held yesterday, local athletes showcased their skills. Nooh Mohamed Irshad won the first heat with 4.5 points, followed by Mohamed Jareesh Jihad with 3.6 points and Mohamed Irshad with 3.45 points in third place.

In the subsequent heat, Ali Javed finished fourth with 8.05 points, while Ahmed Nazmeen secured second place with 6.4 points in the following heat.

Amin Umar Moosa, who moved up from the junior category this year, scored 10.9 points and finished second in his heat. Daud Fazeeh ended up fourth in his heat, and Mohamed Jareesh scored 8.9 points to finish third in his heat.

In another heat, Nooh competed alongside the country's top bodyboarder, Ali Khushruwan (Kuda Ayya). Kuda Ayya finished third with 8.115 points, behind Portugal's Joel Rodriguez and Venezuela's Edwin Aldana, while Nooh finished fourth.

Ali Sham Rafiu, who famously defeated nine-time world champion Mike Stewart of Hawaii last year, finished second in his heat with 9.1 points. Mohamed Kaif secured third place with 7.3 points.

Young bodyboarder Eyan Ahmed scored 5.75 points to finish third in his heat, and Ashraf Hassan ended up fourth. Mohamed Azan Ahmed scored 9.6 points in the final heat of the round but finished fourth in a highly competitive heat.
