Maldives Police Service, on Sunday, confirmed that a traffic accident involving four cars and one pickup occurred on Sinamale bridge at approximately 1214 hrs.
According to the police, the accident resulted when a car halted on the side of the bridge after signaling due to an overheated engine. Four vehicles behind the car subsequently collided into it.
While all vehicles involved in the accident were damaged to varying degrees, no individuals sustained any injuries.
The police disclosed that the five drivers involved in the aforementioned accident possessed the required licenses to operate their vehicles.
Police noted that further investigation into the accidents was underway.
