Maziya S&R of Maldives loses 3-1 to ATK Mohan Bagan of India in Group D knockout stage of the AFC Cup on Saturday evening.
With this defeat, Bengaluru FC also loses the chance to advance in the tournament. Only one team from South Asia, with the highest points in the group, will go to the next round.
The two teams competing for the first place is Mohan Bagan, currently at first place with six points and Bangladesh's Bashundhara Kings, with four points. In the match between the two teams held next week, Bashundhara can only achieve first place if they defeat Mohan Bagan. However Mohan Bagan can ensure they win first place within the group even in the match ends in a draw.
The first goal of the match held in the Maldives National Stadium was scored by Maziya. Around the 25th minute Aisam Ibrahim (Tony) scored their first and only goal for the evening.
Mohan Boga scored the equalizer in the third minute of the second half. Liston Colaco scored this goal.
Their second goal was in the 63rd minute of the match, scored by Roy Krishna while Manveeru Singh scored their third goal in the 77th minute.
