Cake Donors successfully raised over MVR 350,000 in a fundraising event held yesterday to support Palestine.
Stalls were set up across four locations in Malé city and three areas in Hulhumalé from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., where various food items and pastries were sold.
Aishath Sherin, the founder of Cake Donors, said that in addition to Malé, volunteers from the community were positioned in Haa Dhaalu atoll Finey, collecting MVR 3,41,865 from the Malé area and MVR 5,406 from Finey. This brings the total funds raised to MVR 3,47,271. Additionally, they received USD 365 and 55 euros in aid.
All proceeds generated during this eleven-hour event were donated to the International Aid Campaign (IAC).
Cake Donors have been actively involved in social initiatives since 2016, consistently providing support to those in need during various crises and illnesses.
