The Litigants LLP, on behalf of First Lady Fazna Ahmed, demanded an apology over the allegations made against her by the online media outlet 'Maldives News Network'.

In her defence, First Lady Fazna's lawyer Nazim Abdul Sattar urged the company to recognize and apologize for the defamatory information published on its platform, stating that it had violated broadcasting ethics and code of practices.

According to the law firm, the media agency falsely accused the First Lady of supplying plants required for the landscaping of a public park located in the South-East coast of Male'.

The firm further shunned the reporting by denying the claims, adding that legal action will be pursued against the company.

The 'News Nework' also accused the First Lady of transferring funds to Mauritius. However, the outlet did not disclose any details pertaining to the alleged false claims.

The park's development remains a contentious issue among the controversy-laden administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, with Male' City Mayor Shifa Mohamed firmly aligned under the crosshairs of public scrutiny.
