Ministers begin declaring assets

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's cabinet Ministers have started declaring their assets.

President's Spokesperson, Ibrahim Hoodh stated on Sunday, that a time period has been allocated for members to submit the details of their assets.

"This is a newly adopted practice. We trust that everyone will declare the details of their assets," he said.

Chief Communications Strategist at the President's office Hoodh, has yet to reveal which ministers have currently declared their assets, nor has he stated the period which President Solih has allocated to submit details of their assets. The spokesperson said that he would reveal these details at a later date.

According to the 162 pledges spanned over the first 100 days of the current administration, President Solih pledged that all appointees to the administration, state companies and independent commissions will publicize theirs and their spouses’ financial statements and that these submissions will be made public.

The new administration has 20 appointed Ministers, in addition to the Attorney General of the state.
