No exceptions are made and no political influence interferes with investigating complaints made to the commission, said the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

This comes after Supreme Court Justices Husnu Suood, Mahaz Ali Zahir and Dr. Azmiralda Zahir were suspected from the court by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), claiming that ACC had alerted the commission to an ongoing investigation against the three judges.

This suspension also came while there is an active case at the Supreme Court seeking to quash a constitutional amendment on anti-defection with just 15 minutes to spare before a hearing was scheduled to take place in the case. Because of this, several lawyers accused that the allegations against the judges were fabricated to interfere with the case.

Follow these allegations, ACC issued a statement saying their investigations make no exception when complaints are made to the commission and that conducting investigations is compulsory upon the commission by law.

In the statement, ACC said they would continue to investigate such cases within the powers conferred by law and regulations. and assured that the commission would investigate cases without yielding to any entity influence and without favouring a specific entity.

However, the statement did not say what cases the ACC is investigating against the judges and what allegations are being made.
