Hajj and Umrah leave for political appointees

The policy for political appointees has been revised granting them a special leave to perform Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.

According to the 11th amendment to the policy of political appointees appointed by the President of Maldives, the appointees will receive a paid leave of 35 days including public holidays, from the date of departure for the Hajj pilgrimage.

For Umrah pilgrimage, the appointees will receive a paid leave of 15 days including public holidays, from the date of departure.

However, the appointees will receive a paid leave for either of the pilgrimage acts if they performing it for the first time.

Meanwhile, Civil Servants also receive a paid leave of 30 days for Hajj if the employees are performing the pilgrimage for the first time. However, for Umrah pilgrimages, the employees must seek a no-pay leave.
