The Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced that 203 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives while 109 recovered from the disease.
According to the agency, of the new cases, 115 were from the greater Male’ region, 70 cases from residential islands, 18 cases from operational resorts and one case from liveabords.
Currently, the island nation records a total of 26,348 virus cases of which 2,678 are active cases, in addition to 23,591 recoveries and 70 deaths.
On March 12, 2020, WHO classified the spread of COVID-19 as a global pandemic. To date, the new strain of novel coronavirus has infected over 142 million people and claimed over 3 million lives around the world. However, out of those infected, more than 120.7 million people have recovered.
