Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed on Wednesday that a male Bangladeshi worker was mugged in Kulhudhuffushi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, by two assailants on a motorbike covering their faces.
According to the police, the attackers assaulted the victim outside on the road with a wooden plank before taking his wallet from him.
In addition to sustaining injuries on his right arm, the victim's head was split open over his left eyebrow.
Authorities reported that the victim was taken to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital for treatment.
Authorities assured that the matter is currently under investigation, but did not reveal further details about the incident.
However, as of yet, police are yet to make any arrests.
