Funadhoo Adhaalath Party candidate joins forces with PNC candidate

Adaalath Party’s candidate for Funadho constituency in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections of Maldives Ismail Hameed has decided to step aside and stand in support of Mamdhooh Yoonus, the People’s National Congress (PNC) candidate for the constituency.

Adaalath Party’s candidate for Shaviyani atoll Funadho constituency in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections of Maldives Ismail Hameed has decided to step aside and stand in support of Mamdhooh Yoonus, the People’s National Congress (PNC) candidate for the constituency.

Announcing the decision on social media, Hameed said that his decision to support the ruling party’s candidate is based on his belief that it is what is most beneficial for the development of the constituency.

As such, he has called all of his supporters to vote for Mamdhooh in the parliamentary election scheduled to be held on 21st April, 2024.

A total of five candidates are contesting for the constituency seat including MDP candidate and former MP of Gemanafushi constituency Ilhaam Ahmed, Abdul Hannaan Hussain on behalf of The Democrats, and independent candidate and Funadhoo Island Council President Ahmed Ibrahim Fulhu, in addition to Hameed and Mamdhooh.

Ahmed Ibrahim Fulhu, who initially contested in the PNC primaries and failed to secure a ticket, is now contesting with support from former president Abdulla Yameen’s party People’s National Front (PNF).
