Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has cancelled the announcement they made earlier seeking a Chief Executive Officer for Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
On June 26, PCB had announced that they were seeking a CEO for MIFCO to be appointed for four years for a salary between USD 9,500 (MVR 146,000) and USD 12,000 (MVR 185,000) based on qualifications and experience.
The deadline for applications, which were open to both locals and foreigners, was 14:00 hrs yesterday.
In a post on social media X today, PCB stated that they had cancelled the announcement as, by the time the deadline was reached, they had not received any applications from qualified persons.
They did not reveal the number of applications received or any further details.
However, Mihaaru News reports that former Managing Director of MIFCO Ibrahim Athif Shakoor and Food Safety Head and Manager of Felivaru Canning Factory Ali Ahmed applied for the post.
As per PCB's announcement, applicants must hold a Masters Degree or a Degree in Business Management and Administration or a related field. They must also have management experience of eight years at a local company, or four years at an international level company. They said then that priority will be given to applicants with prior experience at a company which was involved in fish processing, fish exports or other types of fish production.
