First couple to fly to Saudi Arabia on Monday to perform Hajj

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed to depart to Saudi Arabia on Monday to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

President's Office said the couple will fly to Saudi Arabia tomorrow morning. The Hajj pilgrimage by the first couple is not facilitated under the quota set for Maldivians each year, to perform the holy annual pilgrimage.

Maldives received a quota for 453 people to perform Hajj this year. While 100 slots were opened to the public, the remaining 353 slots were given to people that had already completed their payments in the Hajj Corporation.

All Maldivians performing Hajj this year has already flown to Saudi Arabia.
