Family Court has revealed that they had concluded 99 percent of the cases submitted to them by the end of the first half of the year.

As per the statistics for the first six months of 2024 released by Family Court, as per the end of July, 1073 cases had been submitted to the Family Court. Out of these, 1065 cases have been completed.
Within this period, the Court has conducted 1121 marriages. In addition to this, 89 marriages that were conducted abroad were registered in the Maldives as well. The period also saw 594 divorces.
They also ruled on MVR 38.4 million in alimony and child support. In relation to other rulings, over MVR 23 million was accepted by the Court and handed over to recipients.
The Department of Family Affairs received 107 cases, with 60 having reached amicable resolutions. They also issued 47 child protection and domestic violence related orders.
