Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development has met with the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday in response to the correspondence they sent after concluding their investigations into the allocation of Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) built flats.
Details of the meeting have not been shared by either the Ministry of the ACC yet.
The flats, a total of 4000, were to be allocated under the previous administration's 'Gedhoruveriya' housing scheme. However, release of the flat recipients led to widespread complaints, with the ACC stepping in to investigate the allocation process.
After the granting of flats had been halted for months as the ACC had been conducting investigations into the complaints, the commission finally notified the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Planning on Thursday evening that they could proceed with the issuance of flats.
While it has been said that the Ministry has been instructed to refer to five factors in deciding to issue flats, it is so far unconfirmed what these factors are.
