Magoodhoo Council has announced it's decision to open bids for the establishment of a resort in the island lagoon for investors and contractors alike.
Faafu Atoll Magoodhoo Council has opened a bidding opportunity for developing a resort at the Eastern region of the Magoodhoo lagoon.
An announcement by the Magoodhoo Council revealed their decision to open the chance for any investor interested [within and outside Maldives] in establishing this resort in the island lagoon to register for the bids until the 15th of next month.
They said that parties who are interested in developing and managing the resort may register through submitting a letter to the Magoodhoo City Council.
The council said they have decided to offer 10 hectares of land for the development of a resort in the Magoodhoo Tourism Zone.
They have also arranged the submissions for parties who are interested is contracting the construction of the resort to be open until the 28th of February.
The establishment of three resorts in the Magoodhoo lagoon was a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The state has also been developing an airport in the Magoodhoo lagoon. The runway constructed to an 1800-meter extension will be established to a standard where it can also accommodate private jets. This project was entrusted to MTCC (Maldives Transport and Contracting Company) with an allocation of MVR 231.5 million from the state budget.
