Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Tuesday, decided to launch an investigation into Chief Magistrate Abdul Sattar Sulaiman, of Magoodhoo Court in Faafu Atoll.
According to JSC, the Chief Magistrate's case was the only matter accepted out of the 23 cases lodged at the commission's 66th meeting. No further details were shared.
JSC is currently investigating cases against several judges including Family Court Chief Judge Hassan Saeed, High Court Chief Judge Shujau Usman, High Court Judge Hassan Ali and some other magistrates.
Recently, JSC suspended High Court Judge Hassan Ali in connection to the abduction of journalist Ahmed Rilwan. In addition, under the commission's counsel, Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Didi was ousted by the Parliament on August 28.
