Former Vice President Abdulla Jihad, on Tuesday, defended loans taken from China during the administration of previous President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, citing long repayment periods and low interest rates.
Jihad's statements came during Tuesday's parliamentary session, where he was summoned to discuss the government's sovereign guarantees.
