Mafaz is the fourth Deputy Commissioner to be appointed to Customs during the current government's tenure.
In a statement shared on X, Customs announced, "President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Mafaz as the Deputy Commissioner of the agency."
Mafaz holds a Master's Degree in Custom Administration from the University of Canberra, Australia, showcasing his expertise in the field.
Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief Superintendent of Customs.
Fathimath Dhiyana, Abdulla Waheed, and Mahmood Riaz are among those currently serving as Deputy Commissioners of Customs, alongside Mafaz in his new capacity.
