Main opposition, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) confirms former President Abdulla Yameen is set to visit three southern atolls in November. Heis said to visit all administrative atolls before the 2023 presidential elections.
The former statesman is currently visiting various parts of the country, as part of his campaign efforts. Yameen is expected to visit Noonu atoll sometime this week.
The party's spokesperson Heena Waleed, during a press conference on Saturday, October 22, confirmed Yameen will visit Addu City during early November. He is also expected to travel to Fuvahmulah City and Gaafu Dhaalu atoll during the same month.
PPM's spokesperson said Yameen is traveling to all residential islands, as part of preparatory works for the presidential election - collecting public opinion and complains.
The former president concluded similar trips to upper northern atolls of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu last week.
