Qunoot recitation in mosques, done in solidarity with Palestine to resume today

Islamic Ministry has stated that Qunoot recitation has been arranged to resume during Magrib and Fajr prayer time in all mosques in the country to stand in solidarity with Palestine.

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has made arrangements to resume Qunoot-e-Nazilah recitations in all mosques to pray for the protection of the Palestinian people from the deadly Israeli offensive against them.

The Ministry stated that Qunoot will be recited during Maghrib and Fajr prayers to pray for an end to the suffering faced by the people of Palestine during this time.

"Muslims are one body. This time of suffering faced by the Islamic community is the time when [we should] pray with sincerity," said the Ministry.

Maldives has been reciting Qunoot at prayer times to pray for the safety of the Palestine during each instance the Israeli offensive in Gaza escalates.

Begun on October 7 last year with the claim of eliminating Hamas, the Israeli strikes on Gaza has martyred over 35,700 Palestinians and injured tens of thousand civilians. Women, teenagers and children accounts for most of these victims.

UN said that over 800,000 Palestinians taking shelter in the southern Gaza city of Rafah have been forced to flee since the Israeli forces strengthened their ground operations in southern Gaza.

Hospitals have repeatedly been targeted by the Israeli military, leaving them in ruins beyond use. Israeli forces have also blocked entry of essential medical and aid supplies into Gaza, which may cause an imminent famine, according to the UN.
