Kaimoo's Equator Village Resort mark 21 years

Equator Village Resort marks 21 years as a Kimioo operated resort.

The resort located in the Southernmost Addu Atoll was first opened in 1983, and later in 1999 Kaimoo took over operations.

Equator Village boats 78 bungalows that welcome a variety of guests, particularly divers who come to visit nearly by wreck dives and year-round manta ray sightings as per the resort.

According to a statement by the Equator Village, the resort was recently upgraded and rebranded as a boutique hotel, with a refurbished reception area, restaurant, bar, pool, gym, and beachfront. The newly refurbished conference hall located in a heritage building just a 2-minute drive from Gan International Airport makes it an ideal destination for meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

Over the years, the resort has won a number of local and international travel awards including Maldives Travel Awards, Leading Airport Hotel 2017, 2018, South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), Leading Airport hotel 2019. The resort has been nominated for the 2020 SATA Awards under the categories of Leading Airport Hotel; Leading Boutique Hotel / Resort; Leading Heritage Hotel /Resort.

Furthermore, Equator Village has multiple community outreach programmes, and work closely with local schools and Addu Red Crescent Society.

Resort Manager Mohamed Waheed expressed gratitude for the resort team and clients.

The resorts parent company Kaimoo is hundred percent local and was founded in 1979. It is one of the leading hospitality businesses in Maldives, and currently manages six resorts and hotels in the country.
