Telecommunication giant Dhiraagu, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, introduced a 30-day data package for school students and teachers on Sunday.
This package is free of charge and aims to help facilitate online studies, during a time when schools are indefinitely closed due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Dhiraagu, the 5-GB data package will be available for students and teachers, confirmed by the Education Ministry, using Dhiraagu's pre-paid, post-paid, Mamen or other mobile services.
The company noted that this data allowance will allow feasible access to remote education facilities as well as aid in conducting online classes.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dhiraagu has also provided discounts and additional data for their customers.
Fixed-broadband customers will 10 GB of free data, in addition to receiving 30 percent extra data and 50 percent discount on all add-ons.
Dhiraagu requested that all customers use internet services responsibly, as well as adhere to instructions given by health experts.
