President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, is set to open Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi, located in Lhayivani Atoll, on Wednesday.

The resort sources exclusively eco-conscious materials for the residence, including wood from sustainable forests in Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, as well as trees sourced in close proximity to the island in Maldives.

Crown and Champa Resorts' latest addition features 15 villas, the designs of which draw inspiration from Japan. Each villa is a 2-storey building with 984 solar panels which generate 300kW of electricity, which will be fully utilized throughout the resort.

In order to avoid the use of single-use plastics, the resort will make use of only eco-friendly materials that are bio-degradable.

The private island is designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Yuji Yamazaki and the resort has been listed in the 2019 Architectural Digest’s Hottest Designed Hotels.

President Solih will inaugurate the resort during his visit to Dhuvaafaru, Raa Atoll and Henbadhoo, Noonu Atoll.
